In all our project’s we seek to foster a spirit of collaboration by; tapping into the strong community of makers and designers in Cumbria, the North West, and throughout the UK; we often take a participatory approach to the design process with our clients to understand and enhance the broader socio-economic and environmental contexts in which our projects are located.

We seek to simplify our approach and to allow our designs to sympathetically respond to the complexity and diversity of natural and human ecology. Our designs emerge from this content revealing the unique characteristic for each project.

We adopt a sustainable contemporary approach and work closely with clients to find new viable and comprehensive solutions to both urban and rural environments by leading teams of multi disciplinary professionals selected specifically for each project.

We work with clients to help them realise the development and design potential of their land assets. We adopt a strong visionary and interpretive approach to all our work underpinned by quality and deliverability. We offer an interdisciplinary approach to the design process based on our wealth of experience that includes organizing and managing close collaborations with a wide range of professionals including architects and engineers.

We are committed to creating sustainable designs that are specific to the spirit of the place and the mission of each project. This goal is achieved on a variety of scales and through various disciplines to deliver sustainable design solutions that fulfill and often exceed expectations. Designing for people is fundamental to this process.

Our combined skills embrace leadership, collaboration and team working. Throughout our careers we have been responsible for organizing, co-ordinating and directing large multi-discipline teams focusing especially on complex public realm issues. We have led teams winning numerous competitions and awards for our work. We have worked on an extensive portfolio of exciting and challenging projects both in the UK and overseas.

We like to work in ranges of scale from masterplanning to detail design, within a broad range of budgets. Regardless of the size, context or scope, we will approach each project as a unique challenge and an exciting opportunity to develop the most appropriate and effective design response. The design process starts with listening to our clients and developing a creative and logical response to their needs and aspirations for a particular project.

We use sketches and state-of-the-art 3D digital and BIM tools to explore and refine our designs, translating these schemes into reality by drawing on an exceptional network of knowledge and experience that embraces every aspect of the project design, construction and performance.
