St Mary's Parish Church, Ambleside: Public Realm Improvements Scheme
Iteriad were appointed in late 2017 by St Mary's PCC on behalf of the Diocese of Carlisle to develop a design to improve the environment around the Parish Church. The existing environment around the church consisted of overgrown vegetation that obscured views of the church building, no seating areas, insufficient car parking spaces with tarmacadam surfacing in a poor state of repair.
Iteriad designed a scheme that included:
-
Increased number of parking spaces
-
New footpath circuit and improved vehicular circulation around the church
-
Low level lighting to footpaths
-
Refreshment planting
-
New street furniture
Iteriad created a new seating area with concept design for a feature bench. Chris Brammall developed the design of the bench to form a focal point for the annual traditional Rush Bearing festival gathering, weddings and funerals.
Bushell Raven were acting as Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors.
